Our practice is part of a local Integrated Care Board who plan and manage most local health care services.
NHS Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) replaced Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in the NHS from 1 July 2022 as part of the Health and Care Act 2022.
In Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) this means that Leicester City CCG, West Leicestershire CCG and East Leicestershire and Rutland CCG became the NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board. The functions of the CCGs transferred to the ICB.
The role of ICB is to develop a plan to meet the health needs of the population and to arrange and manage the budget for the provision of NHS services in LLR.
Members of the ICB Board are the senior leaders from NHS organisations and local authorities in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The ICB Board has oversight of the whole health system, sets the strategic direction and working jointly with the Health and Wellbeing Partnership agrees what needs to be done to meet the priorities for the ICS.
The ICB Constitution sets out the board membership and governance arrangements for the organisation.
